Community Guidelines
Last updated: March 29, 2026
Welcome to VotesZ
VotesZ is a community where people share photos, vote on posts from friends and businesses, and earn rewards. These guidelines help keep VotesZ a safe, respectful, and enjoyable place for everyone. They apply to all content and interactions on the platform, including posts, comments, profile information, and messages.
1. Be Respectful & Inclusive
VotesZ is for everyone. We celebrate diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and opinions. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
- Engage in good faith. You can disagree with someone's opinion without attacking them personally.
- Be considerate of different cultures, languages, and viewpoints.
- Remember there's a real person behind every account.
2. What's Allowed
- Sharing your honest opinions and feedback on posts.
- Casual language, humor, and self-expression (including swearing in a non-targeted way).
- Constructive criticism and genuine debate.
- Promoting your own VotesZ posts and sharing your referral link.
- Creating posts about any topic that follows these guidelines.
- Using AI-generated photos for personal posts (clearly labeled).
3. What's NOT Allowed
The following content and behavior will result in moderation action:
Hate Speech & Discrimination: content that attacks, demeans, or incites violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Harassment & Bullying: targeted abuse, intimidation, threats of violence, stalking, unwanted sexual attention, or coordinated campaigns against another user.
Threats & Violence: content that threatens, encourages, or glorifies violence against any person or group.
Doxxing & Privacy Violations: sharing someone's private information without their consent.
Impersonation: creating accounts or content that falsely represents another person, business, or organization.
Spam & Scams: repetitive or unsolicited promotional content, phishing links, pyramid schemes, or fake giveaways.
Vote Manipulation: using multiple accounts, bots, scripts, or coordinated groups to artificially inflate or deflate votes, points, or referral counts.
Illegal Content: content that violates any applicable law.
NSFW & Explicit Content: pornographic, sexually explicit, or excessively graphic violent content. VotesZ is designed for a general audience (13+).
Misinformation: deliberately spreading false information that could cause harm.
Self-Harm: content that promotes, encourages, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact local emergency services.
4. Business-Specific Rules
Businesses using VotesZ must also:
- Only post content they have the rights to use.
- Not mislead voters about the nature of their products or services.
- Honor coupon codes distributed through the platform.
- Not use VotesZ to collect personal data about individual voters beyond what is provided through aggregated statistics.
- Clearly identify paid or promotional content.
5. Consequences
Violations of these guidelines result in escalating consequences:
Level 1 - Warning: for first-time or minor violations, you will receive a warning notification explaining what you did wrong.
Level 2 - Content Removal: content that violates these guidelines will be removed. Repeated violations may result in temporary restrictions.
Level 3 - Temporary Suspension: serious or repeated violations may result in a temporary account suspension (typically 1-30 days).
Level 4 - Permanent Ban: severe violations (hate speech, threats, doxxing, illegal activity) or continued violations after warnings will result in permanent account termination. Banned users forfeit all shop money, points, and earnings.
In cases of criminal activity, we may report the violation to law enforcement.
6. Reporting
If you see content or behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it:
- In the app: long-press on a post or comment and tap "Report", then select a reason.
- Via email: send details to [email protected] with the username and a description of the issue.
All reports are reviewed by our moderation team. Reports are confidential; the reported user will not know who reported them. False or malicious reporting is itself a violation of these guidelines.
7. Moderation
VotesZ uses a combination of automated systems and human review to enforce these guidelines:
- Automated filters detect hate speech, spam, and suspicious patterns in real time.
- Our moderation team reviews reported content and flagged accounts.
- We use AI-assisted tools to help identify potential violations at scale.
We aim to be fair and consistent in our moderation. We recognize that context matters, and we consider the intent, severity, and impact of content when making decisions.
8. Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you can appeal:
- Contact us at [email protected] with your username and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision was incorrect.
- Appeals are reviewed by a different member of our team than the one who made the original decision.
- We aim to respond to appeals within 7 business days.
- The appeal decision is final.
9. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Community Guidelines as our platform evolves. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the app. Continued use of VotesZ after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
